Chinese Vice President Li Yuanchao has invited his Ghanaian counterpart to Beijing on June 20 to 25, the China Foreign Ministry has said.
The two leaders will hold bilateral talks after which he will also attend China-Africa Industrial Capacity Cooperation-Ghana Promotion Conference.
He will also visit other cities in China aside Beijing.
The visit comes as Ghana launched a crackdown on illegal Chinese miners.
Scores of Chinese are also standing trial on illegal mining related charges.
Ghana is China’s largest trading partner in West Africa with trade volumes hitting $1.8 billion in 2016.
China’s ambassador to Ghana, Sun Boahong, has said the trade figures is a growing sign of cooperation between the two leaders.
It is unclear what the two leaders will discuss in Beijing but China is known for baiting African leaders with mouthwatering financial assistance.
The clampdown on galamsey (illegal mining) is expected to feature prominently in the dicussions.
